I went to Dubai and Abu Dhabi with NASA Astrobiologists Chris McKay, Jon Rask, Matt Reyes, the Mars Society’s Lucinda Land, and a few other people.  The trip was sponsored by the Arab Youth Venture Foundation and was part of NASA’s Spaceward Bound movement.

That means we were there to study hidden microbial life in the desert, to practice for prospecting for hidden life on Mars.

Everywhere we went everyone hosted us so graciously.  Communication and collaboration wasn’t always easy, though, because of the cultural differences between us.
